Trump Supporters Brace for Potential Election Fraud and Unrest in 2024

Bill Robinson, a 65-year-old retired marketing professional from North Carolina, is preparing for what he believes may be inevitable: unrest following the 2024 election. Robinson, who traveled to New York City for former President Donald Trump’s recent rally at Madison Square Garden, voiced his concerns about potential violence, regardless of the election’s outcome.

“It’s a troubling thought, but it seems like there may be no other option than some form of extreme unrest,” Robinson said, wearing a "Don’t Tread on Me" hat as he stood near Penn Station. If Trump loses, he fears a strong backlash from the right; if Trump wins, he worries about the left’s response.

Robinson’s views are shared by many Trump supporters who attended the New York rally. Concerns over possible election fraud and violence are on the rise, especially following two assassination attempts on Trump that have amplified security fears. Numerous supporters at the rally repeated Trump’s unfounded claims of a “stolen” 2020 election, citing this as a reason for their skepticism about the 2024 election’s integrity. They’re prepared to question the results if Trump doesn’t win, adding to the concerns of democracy experts who fear the repercussions of Trump's unproven claims of widespread cheating.

For some of Trump’s supporters, the events of January 6, 2021, remain a rallying point. Many rally-goers expressed a commitment to defending what they see as election fairness and a determination to challenge any outcome they view as fraudulent.
